More Features? Absolutely!
We are back again with another big feature update to the Divi Contact Form Helper plugin! This plugin continues to take the Divi Community by storm with so many features that are not available by default, and would only be available in expensive alternative WordPress contact forms. This update brings many requested features like HTML rich text formatting, email routing, dynamic email addresses, attachments in confirmation emails, and many more! Be sure to leave us a great review on the product page if you are enjoying the plugin and the new features!

New Features
Rich Text HTML Formatting In Messages
Now you can customize the text of your message with rich text formatting! That’s right, now you can use the same editor you are familiar with in Divi to edit the text visually or with HTML. This opens a lot of possibilities for formatting your messages. This new feature applies to the Admin Email Message and Confirmation Email Message.
Email Templates
Ever since version 1.0 of the plugin, we had a somewhat confusing feature called Email Templates. Until now, those were only useful for replying to entries from the backend dashboard. But now they are greatly expanded, and you can create email templates for the admin and confirmation emails, then add them dynamically to the contact form to reuse on multiple forms.
Here’s an example use case. In the backend, go to Email Templates> Add New. Here you can choose the template type, whether it is used for the admin email, confirmation email, reply, etc. Choose Admin Email in this example. Give it a title. Then add the message, and remember you can use custom message pattern merge tags. Then go to the module to the Admin Email and click the gray dynamic content icon (be sure to enable the rich text formatting first). The popup of dynamic content will appear, and here you will see the available templates in the list. Select the one you want, and this template will now be the admin email message.
Dynamic Admin Email Address
A customer asked for dynamic content so that the form could be used in the Theme Builder with custom fields. Great idea! Now you can use the new dynamic content icon in the Admin Email Address field to select a custom field. The custom field would need to contain the email address where you want the form to send.
The normal dynamic content popup appears to select the custom field. This is just an example showing two email address custom fields to choose form.
Conditional Admin Email Routing
This is really incredible feature that adds the ability to send the form to a different email address based on which options are selected in the form. You could set up dropdowns, checkboxes, and radio buttons and depending on the conditional logic, send the form to different address or departments within your company. How cool is that!
To make it work, we have added a new textarea box in the Admin Email settings. You will need to enter the field IDs and option values in a specific pattern. The pattern of the email routing conditional logic is like this:
FIELD_ID::Option Value:emailaddress|Option Value:emailaddress,
FIELD_ID::Option Value:emailaddress|Option Value:emailaddress,
Don’t worry if that sounds confusing, we explain it all very clearly in the admin email documentation.
All Fields Merge Tag
Instead of writing out each merge tag, now you can use a new custom merge tag that will show all the field labels and values! Simply use %%dcfh_all_fields%% in the message.
Attachments In Confirmation Message
Want to deliver a PDF or other file along with the confirmation email to the person who submits the form? Now you can! We have added the ability add the ID of the file from your WordPress Media Library to the message with this format (xxxx = the attachment ID):
[attachments]xxxx,xxxx[/attachments]
The attachments show just like normal in the inbox.
Pabbly Connect Integration
Just like the Zapier integration, we have now added integration settings for Pabbly Connect. Everything works exactly the same as the Zapier integration, so the documentation will be the same except for Pabbly instead.
Description Above Or Below Field
In version 1.1 we released an option to add your own description text to each field. By default, it was located below the field, but now we have added an option to show it above the field if desired.
Search Field For Dropdowns
This took a lot of reworking of the code, but now you can enable a search bar at the top of a select dropdown list. Easily find the items you are looking for in a long list with this new convenient search field.
Disable Current Date
We added this setting to complete the setting from the previous update to the date and time picker. Now you can prevent the current date from being selected.
Set Input With Current Date/Time
This new setting lets you set the date/time picker input field placeholder as the current date/time on page load.
Move Custom Text Label Features To Theme Options
In the previous update, we added a few custom label text options for the File Upload fields. But we realized two things, it was not a complete list, and they were located in the module. One of the main reasons for customizing the text is for language translation, and that would always be sitewide. So this is why we decided to move the custom labels to the Theme Options instead. Here you can see in the screenshot all of the options:
Design Settings For File Uploads
In our last update, we included tons of settings for the date and timer picker, and now we have added design settings for the file upload field! This includes everything from the container, button, and all the text. I know some of you were looking forward to this, and now you can easily style your file upload fields to match your other fields.
Bug Fixes
We are always improving the plugin by making minor bug fixes and code improvements. You can always check the plugin changelog to see the details.
