Overview
Over the past few years, the Divi Theme and Builder have undergone a major transformation, with a complete rewrite of the core builder. This long-term project is culminating in Divi 5, the foundation for Divi’s future.
Because of these core changes, all third-party plugins like ours must also be rebuilt to remain compatible and supported moving forward. We’ve spent the past several years fully committed to this massive effort, investing significant time, energy, and financial resources. That hard work is now paying off, and we’re steadily rolling out Divi 5 compatibility across our plugins.
Please read this entire guide carefully before updating. It includes essential details, potential risks, and our planned timeline. This is an important transition, so we encourage you to take your time and follow the information step-by-step as we move into a new era of Divi together.

Current Divi 5 Compatibility Status
Summary
This plugin is 99% or more compatible with Divi 5 and has been tested up to version 5.0.0-public-alpha.18.1. Only a few minor features are still pending updates from Elegant Themes. Work is ongoing to complete single-file integration for Divi 4 and 5, and our new universal backend settings UI is 98% finished. The plugin is available for beta testing, but please note the available current beta version is only compatible with Divi 5.

The beta version will not work on Divi 4, so please only test on Divi 5 at this time.
We created Divi Assistant knowing that Divi 5 was coming, so from the start, we strategically designed the features to be as future-proof as possible. Almost all of its original settings and features will remain unaffected by the upcoming release of Divi 5, a testament to its design and strategic approach. Almost all current features in Divi Assistant will continue to work in Divi 5, and those that are not working have been updated and will be released very soon.
Looking ahead beyond the initial compatibility release, we expect the next chapter of Divi Assistant will be about enhancing existing Divi modules, potentially adding hundreds of missing settings and features into the Divi Builder and native Divi modules after Divi 5 is finalized. The unique strategy we embrace at Pee-Aye Creative, compared to other plugins that add a suite of modules, is simple: since our plugin focuses on modifying existing modules, it can be safely added and removed as needed. We are preparing quite a significant list of things that will be added by our plugin once Divi 5 is stable, and we are moving forward with development again.
