Overview
The Divi Dynamic Content Helper plugin includes full support for native WordPress custom fields, allowing you to view and edit them directly inside the Divi Builder without needing to switch to the backend. This makes it easy to manage simple custom fields on any site, even without using a dedicated custom field plugin. The user interface of the fields, which appear in our custom window in the Divi Builder, closely follows the familiar layout used in the WordPress backend, while keeping it familiar with the Divi interface. This thoughtful implementation ensures the experience is intuitive and consistent.
Native WordPress Custom Fields Support
If your site does not have a plugin like ACF, Pods, or Meta Box installed, the Divi Dynamic Content Helper will automatically detect and display native WordPress custom fields. This ensures the plugin remains useful and functional even in the most minimal setups. The interface mirrors the layout in the default WordPress editor, with an input field for the field name, an input field for the field value, and Update and Delete buttons.
Editing Native Fields In The Divi Builder
Each custom field displays with two input fields, one for the field name and one for the field value, just like you would expect from the standard WordPress layout in the backend. Below each field group, there are Update and Delete buttons for saving changes or removing fields. A divider line separates each field group for clear visual organization.
Add New Custom Fields
The Add Custom Field button is always available at the bottom of the custom fields panel in the builder. This allows you to create new fields at any time, whether or not any fields already exist. You can click the Cancel button as needed when adding if you change your mind. Once a field is added, it will appear immediately in the list above and can be edited or removed just like in the backend.
