Adding Events in The Events Calendar
As a reminder, all event management is handled by The Events Calendar. Once you’ve added events and filled in the details using their plugin, you can start using our Divi Events Calendar modules to display and style your events in Divi layouts. Check out our other documentation for guidance on how to use the Divi modules.
Important: All event management, including adding, editing, and organizing events, is handled by The Events Calendar. For detailed instructions, refer to their official documentation.
Steps to Add an Event
Adding an event in The Events Calendar is similar to creating WordPress posts or pages.
- Navigate to Events > Add New in your WordPress dashboard.
- Fill in the Event Details:
Complete the following fields for your event:- Title – Enter the name of your event.
- Description – Provide a detailed description of the event.
- Start/End Time – Set the date and time for your event.
- Venue – Specify the location where the event will take place.
- Organizer – Add the person or organization hosting the event.
- URL – Include a link to more details, tickets, or external event pages.
- Cost – Indicate the ticket price or event cost (if applicable).
- Excerpt – Write a brief summary of the event.
- Tags – Add tags to organize and describe your event further.
- Categories – Assign categories for filtering and organization.
- Featured Image – Upload an image to represent your event visually.
Managing Events in The Events Calendar
Once you’ve added one or more events, you can manage and edit them anytime.
View and Edit Events:
Go to Events > Events to see a list of all your upcoming events. From here, you can edit or update event details as needed.
Manage Additional Event Elements:
The Events Calendar also allows you to manage these related parts:
- Categories – Create or edit event categories for better organization.
- Venues – Add or update venue information.
- Organizers – Manage details about event organizers.
By managing events through The Events Calendar, you ensure seamless integration with the Divi Events Calendar plugin, giving you full control to showcase events beautifully in Divi layouts.
