Overview
Why Do We Need This
Divi released its own built-in preview size feature after our plugin became popular. However, the new feature is limited and frustrating. Because of these limitations and frustrations, we created a setting in the Divi Responsive Helper to completely disable this Divi feature. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you consider this decision in comparison to the features our plugin had first and still has today:
| Divi Responsive Helper | Divi |
| Released April 2020 | Released November 2020 |
| Works for ANY screen size | Limited to 981px and smaller |
| Works for all laptop sizes | Does not work for laptop sizes |
| Works for all desktop sizes | Does not work for desktop sizes |
| Settings conveniently out of the way in page settings | Settings area takes up large chunk of the screen height |
| Full 100% screen preview area | Small preview area |
| Can be enabled or disabled | Permanently enabled |
| Option in 2.0 to completely disable the Divi preview size feature | No option to disable feature |
| New features/improvements always being added | Most Divi features do not receive updates or improvements |
What This Feature Does
This feature does a very simple task. It completely removes the Divi responsive views feature that was introduced with version 4.7 of Divi. The Divi Responsive Helper disables this feature and the Divi feature is turned off by default in the plugin settings. You can enable or disable this feature at any time.
How To Use
How To Enable The Feature Divi 4
To start using the feature to disable the built-in responsive views feature in Divi 4, go to the Divi > Theme Options menu in your WordPress backend, then select the Divi Responsive Helper tab, which our plugin adds. Select the Preview Size subtab and enable the Disable Divi Responsive Views setting.
