Overview
The Divi Responsive Helper plugin includes a set of layout controls that let you define consistent default spacing and sizing for sections and rows across your site. These settings make it easier to maintain balanced layouts at every breakpoint without repeatedly adjusting individual elements.
Instead of hunting through the Customizer or manually editing each section or row, these features centralize layout defaults in one place. All settings act as global defaults and can still be overridden on a per-section or per-row basis when needed.
How To Use
Configure The Settings Divi 4
To start using the layout width and spacing features in Divi 4, go to the Divi > Theme Options menu in your WordPress backend, then select the Divi Responsive Helper tab, which our plugin adds. Select the Layout subtab and configure the settings as needed.
Configure The Settings Divi 5
To start using the layout width and spacing features in Divi 5, go to the Pee-Aye Creative menu in your WordPress backend, then select Divi Responsive Helper. In the plugin settings interface, open the Layout Width & Spacing tab from the left sidebar. From there, enable and configure the settings as needed.
Default Section & Row Spacing
Section Default Top and Bottom Padding
These settings let you define the default top and bottom padding for all sections on your site at each breakpoint. Changes made here sync with the corresponding settings in the Divi Customizer, and updates in either location stay in sync.
Divi uses percentage units for section padding on Desktop, and pixel units on Tablet and Phone. These defaults apply sitewide but can be overridden by adjusting padding on any individual section in the builder.
This is useful when you want consistent vertical spacing between sections without manually tuning every layout.
Row Default Top and Bottom Padding
These settings control the default top and bottom padding for all rows across your site at each breakpoint. Like section padding, these values mirror the related Customizer settings and stay synchronized.
Desktop row padding uses percentage units, while Tablet and Phone use pixel units. The values act as global defaults and can be overridden within any row’s settings as needed.
This helps ensure rows maintain consistent breathing room across devices, especially in complex layouts.
Default Row Width & Max Width
Row Default Width
These settings allow you to define the default row width for Desktop, Tablet, and Phone. The values correspond to the Row settings found in the Divi Builder under the Design tab in the Sizing section.
Divi uses percentage-based widths by default. Any value set here becomes the starting width for new rows but can be overridden on individual rows when required.
This is especially helpful for maintaining predictable row proportions across different layouts and breakpoints.
Row Default Max Width
These settings define the default maximum width for rows at each breakpoint. They map directly to the Row max-width setting in the Divi Builder and use pixel units by default.
Like the other layout controls, these values apply globally but remain fully overrideable on a per-row basis. This makes it easier to keep content from stretching too wide on large screens while still allowing flexibility where needed.
