Overview

The Divi Timer Pro plugin comes with three types of countdown timers, Auto-Restart, Evergreen, and Standard. In this document, we will explore the Standard countdown timer features and settings.

What Is The Standard Timer?

The Standard timer refers to a countdown timer that has a fixed end date/time. In other words, you simply choose the date and time in the future when you want the timer to end, and it counts down until that point. This is how the default countdown module works that comes included with Divi.

Why Did We Include A Standard Fixed Timer?

So you may be wondering why we added a Standard timer type since Divi already has this. One of the many problems with the default countdown timer is that when it counts down to a fixed date, it ends and nothing happens! It just sits there when it finishes. How awkward and embarrassing!

The reason we included a standard timer is so that users can take advantage of all our other premium features, such as Expiry Actions and the hundreds of additional customization and design settings. 

Features

The Divi Timer Pro modules includes many features, but some of them only apply when certain timer types are used. Below are the settings that apply specifically when the Standard timer type is used.

Expiry Actions

Each of our time types include the option to choose what happens when the countdown timer ends. The available options include hiding the timer, redirecting to another URL, showing a message, showing a button, hiding other content, and showing other content. Use Cases

The Standard countdown timer feature presents many exciting use cases that would not be possible with the normal Divi countdown module. We will discuss the most common use case for a standard timer below along with a few ideas for the expiry options.

Coming Soon Page

Perhaps the most obvious use case for a standard timer is on a coming soon page. This would be when you are working on your website and want to alert users that a new site is coming soon. Using the Expiry Actions, you could choose to hide the timer or redirect the visitor to the home page.
