Family News
A lot of things happened in August for our family. Hurricane Debby hit us directly, and we received a substantial amount of rain, causing our basement to flood. That was not fun! Abrielled attended a neat little 4-day “Go Be Kind” event at our church, focussed on doing acts of love for others. We went to the Land Of Little Horses with some friends, a local agritourism farm with lots of animals and activities for children. My parents had a grandkids day with all 17 of them before school started. Abrielle started homeschooling and enjoys it! We went to Knoebels, the largest free-admission amusement park in the country, with my sister’s family. It’s really cool. It is located in the mountains of Pennsylvania, and a creek runs through it. The girls loved the rides! Two of Tashia’s sisters had babies this month, only a few days apart. Our friends also had a baby around the same time. Another friend is due soon, so Tashia and others went to clear their house recently, and the guys took the kids to a local natural history museum at Messiah Collage, which was quite fun!
Divi News
Elegant Themes released a very small update to 4.27.1 on August 12.
Divi 5
A lot is happening behind the scenes of Divi 5. The team at Elegant Themes is scrambling to get the Public Alpha 0 into your hands.
Regarding our plugins, we are hard at work on this. It is a long and stressful process rebuilding our plugins, especially as everything changed in Divi. For example, half of our plugins are “helpers” that extend existing plugins, and we only got access to what is needed for this at the beginning of August. Thankfully, we are making good, steady progress, and I have already tested several of our plugins in Divi 5.
Elegant Themes released the following Divi 5 versions to 3rd party developers in August: Dev Beta 25 on August 7, and Dev Beta 26 on August 22. These updates were critical to us, providing a large portion (but not all) of what we finally need to work on our plugins.
To learn more about Divi 5, be sure to check our website for Divi 5 FAQs and submit your questions.
New Tutorials In August
We released a new Divi tutorial every week as usual for a total of 5 during the month of August. These are always written blog posts and YouTube videos.
Product News
Here is all the product news for this month!
Elegant Themes Blog Product Highlights
Elegant Themes just published two product highlights about our plugins on their blog!
Divi Search Helper Highlight Post
For those who may not know, these posts on their blog are awarded to us for contributing our plugins as perks to new customers during the Elegant Themes Black Friday sale each year. They are doing some catch-up on things owed to me. Also, sometimes, these are perks when you reach a specific sales milestone on the Divi Marketplace. These were my own choice to highlight powerful but often overlooked plugins in our collection.
Divi Assistant – 2 New Features!
We did not announce these yet, but there is something new in Divi Assistant. Did you notice it yet? We released a new “helper” in version 1.3.2!
The first is an automated troubleshooting helper. It is a series of guided steps to help solve problems on your site. Try it out and let me know what features to add next!
The other major feature is a new feature in the Media Helper to automatically set image attributes from uploads, such as the alt text, from the image filename. I use this feature all the time!
New SureCart Addon – Support Portal
Our latest addon, Support Portal For SureCart, allows customers to request support directly from their SureCart Customer Dashboard, seamlessly integrating a ticketing system within the SureCart interface.
Major Update To Our Services For SureCart Addon
Our most popular SureCart addon, Services For SureCart, is receiving lots of attention! The latest update brings a long list of new features, and more are going to be released very soon.
Behind The Scenes
I am continuing my year of improvement. This year, I am focused on improving all the exciting things we do. A few notable things – I updated our documentation and support form. Each of our plugins has its own Troubleshooting & FAQs page. I use the Divi Accordion module for those, but it was difficult to point customers to a specific item. Now I used CSS to automatically label each item. You can check any page, but here is an example.
I’m very close to releasing the biggest member perk yet! This feature will be available exclusively for members of the Divi Adventure Club. Members can create a profile in our directory to showcase their WordPress and Divi services, helping clients find the perfect freelancer for their needs. I need a little more time, as it’s a side project, but so excited to officially unveil it.
