Family News
February always feels like it goes by fast, because it literally does. The stomach bug made it’s rounds in our house this month, which delayed lots of plans. We managed to have some friends over and played games like Skyjo and Karen, a hilarious one-star review game. I enjoy trying some of my own recipes, and made some amazing brisket and almost perfected the Chick-fil-A chocolate chunk cookie on my first try baking. It was pretty close, much better than any recipe online. We celebrated “I love you” day with Tashia’s family, an annual tradition. Tashia’s sister is kind of famous in the horsemanship world, and we went to watch her do a clinic at the World Horse Expo. I’m not interested at all, but it was a nice family outing. The warmer weather allowed us to take some walks and the girls have already got to ride their bikes in February! We also had another family day and found a really awesome large playground about 40 minutes away, then visited Pennsylvania’s newest state park, Riverlands State Park in York County.Â
Divi News
There have not been any updates to Divi 4 in the past three months.
Elegant Themes has released updates to Divi 5 Public Alpha roughly every 2 weeks. The latest updates are listed below:
They already released custom breakpoints and AI integration and are very close to releasing Options Group presets, which are presets for things that span different module types, such as text, borders, box shadows, etc. Next is a feature called Advanced Units, which will allow you to use any unit like percentage, pixel, rem, and even advanced CSS functions, such as calc. Another teased feature is Design Variables, which is a native variable system for preset values you can save and reuse for anything like a width, text size, rounded corner, or color.Â
They are moving very fast on new features now that the main foundation and migration work is completed.
To keep up with the latest Divi 5 news, especially about our own plugin development progress, visit our Divi 5 page, which will always have the latest information.
New Tutorial
After years of putting this off, I finally created a guide on SMTP. This took way too long, but I really wanted it to be simple to understand. I think I found a way to explain it well using an analogy of a postman, postal service, and mailboxes.
The video portion of the guide is long. It consists of me musing about the analogy and how important SMTP is for any WordPress website. I also shared recommended free and paid SMTP providers and plugins to integrate them.
This is intended for users who are new or less familiar with SMTP, or maybe you are an expert and may be interested in learning a nice way to explain it to clients.
Product News
Here is all the product news for this month!Â
Our new product WP SiteLauncher has been in BETA, but wow, we are crushing it! This past month we made about 100 significant improvements. I’ll announce and highlight those soon! If you build websites for clients, be sure to check this out! There is nothing like this on the market, and it’s incredibly helpful for client relations.
(10) New Features In The Services For SureCart
We released one of our most significant updates ever to our Services for SureCart addon this month. This update brings a massive list of new features, including multiple services per order, subscription services, rename services, display customer requirements at checkout, and many more settings for customizing your services.
Behind The Scenes
Big Update Coming
We are working on a huge and largest-ever update to one of our most powerful plugins. I can’t say any more now since we seem to have a copycat, so I’ll wait and surprise everyone with the news once it’s ready. I actually have three or four main new features in progress, so I am not sure if I will stagger them and release what is done or wait for a huge release.
Divi 5 Progress
We continue to get asked about Divi 5. We have a dedicated Divi 5 page with questions and answers for our plugins related to Divi 5, so please check there often. I try to keep it updated. Some of you are interested in beta testing, and you can learn how to do that there.
New Community Platform
We are setting up a new community area on our website using FluentCommunity. I think I finally got it all figured out, mostly! I added a link in your account, and if you are reading this, you can be the first to try it out. You might not see any posts or comments there yet, as it’s literally brand new. You can access it any time at https://www.peeayecreative.com/community/Â
