Family News
My parents had a huge tree destroy their playhouse in Hurricane Debby back in August, which made our girls really sad. We spent “Labor Day” with my siblings, cleaning up the mess!
A highlight for us was reconnecting with a friend who was away for 8 months, something I mentioned as a concern in our January 2024 newsletter. He’s doing well in spite of going through a lot of difficult things. It quickly became a busy month.
We went to Chincoteague, Virginia, with friends for a weekend and enjoyed the beautiful weather there at the beach with no crowds at all. We enjoyed seeing nature and exploring. On our way home, we found a free zoo and a huge playground, which the girls loved. Our next adventure was taking my parents to D.C. to the Museum of the Bible, which they had not been to yet.
Each year, my siblings and parents all go to a cabin, and this year, it was in September, and that’s always a blessing to be together. We extended that trip by taking an extra day to go see the wild elk near Benezette, Pennsylvania, and spent some time at State College. On that trip, we explored three new state parks and really had a great time since that is our favorite thing to do as a family.
Divi News
The big news this month is that Divi 5.0 Public Alpha was released to the public. This version is available for testing from your Elegant Themes account members area. Please be sure to read the details carefully and do not use this on live websites yet.
We are making very good progress on converting our plugins to the new Divi 5 format. This is taking a lot of work and expense, so I want to express how thankful I am for your continued support and a little extra patience during this time.
To learn more about Divi 5, be sure to check our website for Divi 5 FAQs and submit your questions.
New Tutorials In September
We released a new Divi tutorial every week as usual for a total of 4 during the month of September. These are always written blog posts and YouTube videos.
Product News
Here is all the product news for this month!Â
Divi Search Helper
We introduced a powerful new feature in Divi Search Helper that allows users to search by taxonomy term. This feature enables users to enter a keyword and find results that match the specific keyword within a category or tag.
HIGHLIGHT: Elegant Themes published a Divi Search Helper product highlight on their blog! If you are not familiar with this powerful plugin, please check their review!
Divi Assistant
We heard from an accessibility expert who showed us a few more improvements that were needed in Divi, and we immediately went to work and resolved all of them! We are so proud to say that all known accessibility issues in Divi are resolved automatically by our helpful Divi Assistant plugin. The changelog is always filled with new features and improvements, many of which we don’t even mention, so be sure to check often!
Divi Dynamic Helper
A customer asked us if we could add support for a free gallery plugin for ACF to our Divi Dynamic Helper plugin. Although we were initially unaware of it, we quickly researched and implemented the support within a few days. It’s amazing – now you can create dynamic galleries in Divi theme Builder templates using the free version of ACF and the ACF Photo Gallery Field plugin.
Behind The Scenes
We added improvements to most of our plugins this month, but we are mostly focused on converting our plugins to Divi 5. This will be an interesting time, seeing which companies put in the effort and who doesn’t. We received several questions about whether we would be updating our plugins, and the answer is a big yes, absolutely. I’ll try to make a separate post and video about that soon.
Members – you should have received an email about a HUGE new member perk. If you missed that email, please let me know, as that will be announced to the public very soon, and I want all interested members to be ready 🙂
I hope you are going to update your Divi Custom Blog module to be Divi 5 compatible as it is a very useful module as unlike Divi’s Blog module it enables category options for CPT’s.
We will keep it in mind. We may also add this feature to Divi Assistant.
