Who Is Divi Easy Demo Import For?

Divi Easy Demo Import is for anyone selling Divi child themes to customers, either on their own website or in the Divi Marketplace.

How Does This Plugin Work?

If you are creating a child theme to sell, you would finalize that on your demo site and then install this plugin. After checking all the configuration settings, you then export the site as a child theme package. This is the file you would provide to your customers. The customer will then install this as a theme, and use the one-click demo import feature to import all the demo content. This essentially makes a close of your demo site for the customer to start with as a template for their new website.

What is the current version?

The current version of Divi Easy Demo Import is 3.0.

What if I already have version 2.8.2?

If you already purchased version 2.8.2 of Easy Demo Import Pro from the previous developers released September 21, 2022, and your customers are not facing any issues, then there is no need to purchase this updated version. This version 3.0 has a lot of fixes to some serious issues that were not working in 2.8.2.

What is fixed/improved in 3.0?

We introduced export and import functionality for Divi Presets, and expanded Divi options export capability. We also fixed lots of PHP related warnings and compatibility issues with newer versions.We also optimized system check to improve performance, and improved the data import reliability. We also added support for plugin dependencies to ensure the plugins install in the correct order based on dependents. For example, this will make sure WooCommerce installs first before an addon that depends on WooCommerce. 

Why is Pee-Aye Creative selling Easy Demo Import (formerly J.E.D.I)?

Some of you may know that Jerry Simmons, fonder of Fervent Solutions and the creator of Jerry’s Easy Demo Import, affectionately known as J.E.D.I. He later renamed it Easy Demo Import Pro. After moving on to other things, he handed off the care of his plugin to Terry Hale, owner of divicommunity.com. But Terry also moved on to other things, and there were no updates and support for current issues customers were facing.

When we noticed the previous developers were no longer maintaining the plugin, we inquired about it, and they (Jerry and Terry) handed it over to us to maintain it or do whatever we wanted with it. So not it is in the care of Nelson Miller, owner of Pee-Aye Creative, to maintain it and do whatever we feel is best. So that’s the backstory!

Why are you selling it by version?

Based on our best estimations and conversations with the previous owners, the demand for this product is low and unsustainable. There are probably less than 100 vendors who have used this, and maybe 15-20 active vendors using it. It does not make sense for us to spend thousands of dollars on support and updates for such a low user base.

How did you calculate the price?

Since taking it over, we have spent over $1,200 so far just on bug fixes and improvements for known issues. Version 3.0 is the result of that work so far. We probably will not break even on that, but we set a price of that will help justify the work a little. Any excess over the money spent so far or in any future bug fixes will go towards the next version.

Will there be a new version with improved UI?

This depends on demand, feedback, and funding. But yes, we are considering doing a major user interface makeover to make it super simple to use with a modern design. If you are interested in this, please note that we will not do so until it is funded, so your purchase of 3.0 will be considered a vote! If we hear from a lot of users who are still using this plugin and want to see a great redesign, then we will release a new version.

Will there be future updates & new features?

This product (and situation) is unique, so I am not sure. We make no guarantee of any updates for this product. If you face a bug, you can let us know, and we will evaluate it and determine if this is something that we can update. If you have ideas for missing features, I welcome them! If you want us to redesign the interface, please cast your vote by purchasing the plugin and sending us a message with any suggestions.

Is support included?

Due to high costs associated with supporting this product, and the unique backstory and situation, we cannot feasibly offer free support for this product at this time.

If you have a bug that you are facing in general, please document it in detail and share that with us. Depending on the issue, we may be able to create an update that addresses it.

We highly recommend having a developer on call to help with troubleshooting any issue you may face with your customers.

Can we share known issues or bugs with you?

Absolutely, if there are any known bugs or issues, please let us know. We will do our best to make any necessary updates, within reason. When reporting a bug, please provide very specific notes and details. If you have a staging environment with the issue, that would make it even more convenient for us to check. Please check all factors like versions of Divi, WordPress, PHP, and other variables to isolate which conditions the issue is happening, when it started, which conditions it does not happen in, etc. Basically anything you can do to help narrow it down will increase the chance of us being able to make the needed fixes.

How do I receive updates?

If we do release any updates within the 3.0.x version like 3.0.1, 3.0.2, etc, we will update the file on our website. You will always be able to download the latest version of 3.0.x from your account. Keep in mind, there is no system in place to receive any kind of automatic updates.

How many sites can I install this on?

You can install version 3.0.x on any number of sites, there is no limit.

Is a license key needed?

No, version 3.0.x does not utilize any kind of license system.

Is Divi Easy Demo Import included in your Divi Adventure Club Membership?

No, this product is not included in our Divi Adventure Club membership due to the unique situation, it would just not be feasible for us.
