Family News
The month of January started calm and relaxed, but quickly became full of various things we will remember. First, it would be impossible to explain here, but we received some shocking news about a close friend I was mentoring as a big brother who was taken away by his father with no means of communication. It’s one of those sad situations involving abuse and trauma, and we are anxiously praying for a good outcome. Next we got a shocking and unusual message that Tashia’s uncle had been killed by a bull. Phew!
We attended the Pennsylvania Farm Show, which is the largest indoor agricultural event in American. The girls enjoy seeing the animals and being there with friends. January also brought us three snowstorms of 3-4 inches each, which we were delighted to receive! Abrielle discovered that sledding with her cousins is her new favorite thing, and spent hours and hours doing it nonstop. Sledding isn’t just for kids though, I spent hours doing it too, and built a nice ramp for the nieces and nephews. 😊 Abrielle and Reiah also got to experience Tashia’s childhood favorite of being pulled on a sled behind their aunt’s horse. The girls also discovered that jumping on a snow covered trampoline is pretty fun, and I must agree! We also had fun making a snow polar bear. Tashia and the girls enjoy putting out bird food when the ground is snow covered and watching dozens of birds (and squirrels) on our back deck.
